How arrival to Santander
By Plane
Santander airport located at 5 km far away from the center of the city, connected with a line of buses that leave you at the city, with daily flights to the cities of Madrid and Barcelona. In order to make an reserve you can use the following companies:

The Bilbao airport ( Sondika ) has some international connections (London, Milano, Frankfurt, Brussels, Paris) and is located at 60 minutes driving distance from Santander. The bus company serving the route Bilbao-Santander is Turytrans (phone in Santander: 942.22.16.85 or 942.22.65.08 and in Bilbao 944.21.03.63) ). If you arrive to Sondika airport, you must take a taxi to the Turytrans- downtown Bilbao stop (Plaza Amezola).

By Bus
There are many buses that connects Santander with the main cities of the Country. Bus-trips are a cheap and popular way for travelling in Spain.Here you will be able to consult the schedules and tariffs:

By train
There are several trains to and from Madrid, with a expected trip duration of about six hours. Spanish railroad company RENFE.

From Madrid Airport you should go to Madrid-Chamartin, one of the downtown train stations. Ask for information at the airport RENFE desk and/or Tourist Info desk. There are shuttle buses connecting the airport with Madrid downtown, Plaza de Colon. From there to the railroad station there are many different possibilities: buses, subway-trains, taxi-cabs. The distance is not too large to promenade, but it is not reasonable to walk it while carrying luggage.

It is not common to take a train to Santander from a different spanish city other than Madrid, there is a train connection with Bilbao and/or Oviedo, via a railroad running along the north coast, almost from spanish land's end (Galicia) to (Hendaye) France. ( FEVE)

All trains arrive in Santander to the Railroad Station, located in the center of the city, 2 kms. distance to the Campus.

By Ferry
Twice a week there is a ferry boat connecting Santander with Plysmouth (U.K.). The trip last about 24 hours.
